A place for educators and parents to share ideas –

How Important is Education?

“As a teacher and Principal of a small elementary school for nearly 40 years I have watched this trend to want academic learning to begin earlier and earlier, replacing the training in life skills for which pre-school age children are suited. The upshot is that children enter Kindergarten thinking they can read, although with most it is only some memorization without method or understanding, but devoid of training in decent social behavior and the basics for being a good citizen.
A question for parents to ask: What is most important in life? Education should be based on that answer.”
